The Ministry Team

“With a wealth of ministry experience behind her, Clare van den Berg serves as lead minister on our ministry team.

Clare loves meeting and encouraging people of all ages. Elderly, single and young people all warm to her and she to them. With a former career as a special needs teacher she has an interest in child development and family relationships.” Her ambition to serve in full time Baptist ministry became a reality on June 18th 2016 at Strode Crescent.

June is a “swampy” who came to Strode as a 5 year old child and never really left except for university and a few years of married life living away from the island. She has played piano and organ at the church since the age of 10. In adult years a business woman and qualified piano teacher she enjoys serving the church with her musical and practical skills in day to day care of the church and the church family which she would love to see encompassing more and more of the local community.

Paul is married to Anthea with two children, one still at school. Paul works in banking; now in a training role with long experience of business account management. As treasurer he keeps a close eye on the church finances. Almost daily commuting to London means that he often comes straight to an evening meeting directly from the bus to have a meal later at home.
